a rainbow party

My youngest turns 2 today. What a happy and sad day. We just wanted to have a simple get together. Especially since we don't know that many people. We have learned the value of friends. All in all the kids had a great time.

I spent the last week researching ideas for a rainbow party. And I just fell in love with so many ideas.

I used my silhouette for the invitations (which were only 4).

I loved the blog Hip Horray and had to have the tablecloth. I was a little disappointed about my judgment when cutting my fabric. I had the right calculation, but for some reason didn't cut them the right sized. That's why there is white under the purple and the red doesn't come to the top of the table. But I still love it.

The cake was from Whisk kid, it came out just perfect. I was a little nervouse I have never made a cake from scratch...it was pretty tasty. I chose to go with a different frosting from all recipes.com.

My mom bought these candles and they were just perfect

Oh these lollipops. I just find this funny. We moved to florida from Altoona Pa, about 9 months ago. I use to complain about shopping and always buying on line. Well as I was searching for these perfect lollipops guess where the number 1 company that came up on google?? Thats right Altoona! It was actually cheaper and quicker to have my father-in law to go to the store pick them up and ship them to me. but they were great.

I used the serger scraps to fill the bucket

I used Dana's method for my streamers from made

Once I saw this I knew I had to find a way. I did it at 9am and the next day at 4pm it is still hanging strong. It didn't take as long as I had expected, but then again I had help from my mother and father in-law. I did 8 of each color.

The rainbow jello, was a big hit in appearance, however didn't really get eaten to much.

I got the cups at the dollar store 5 for $1

I used my cupcake molds from last years party to make these crayons from our broken ones. great favors.

I put bags on the table and the kids put together a bag before they left. Choices of candy on the table, crayons, kazoo, rainbow coloring sheet, and of course a big lollipop. It was a lot for a little party but I think the kids have fun and are still enjoying the candy table.
