better late than never

I must say I have been busy this week and I anticipate the same for the weeks to come. Opening the pool, taking care of the yard, running, working and last but not least taking care of the little munchkins has kept me on my toes.

I just wanted to share the outfits I made for Savannah for Memorial day. I made a shirt for Austin but I didn't get a very good picture, so the next time he wears it I will make it a point to do just that.

Because we had so many parties for the holiday I made her 2 outfits. The first one is a onsie with a ruffled bum and the second one is a pattern from Made by Mama I loved it and couldn't wait to try it. It came out pretty good. The only thing I would do different is make my neck bigger (totally all me).

pretty simple

I can't have an outfit without ruffles

The only up close picture of him in his shirt, same star as as Savannah's just a little bigger and to the side

Teacher gifts

He was suppose to put hand prints on the 1st pot...but he had to go to bed for miss behaving (poor guy)

With the end of the year approaching I was looking for gift idea's for Austin's teachers. My criteria was:

something Austin could do
inexpensive
usable

Through one of my blog parties I saw this at craft-o-maniac. I liked the saying, but I wanted to change it and make it my own. He has 1 teacher and 2 aids, plus 1 for our friend that helped us get him into the school.

So this is my version of her craft.

Mothers day

My mothers day gift was on back order....but has finally arrived and I am so excited.

I used it last night to make a dress and the top in my last post. I hope this makes it easier to make clothes for myself.

Boutique style tang top

I have been in search for new tops since this time last year I was expecting. I have been making them which to my surprise I have been wearing them. So I got this simple white tang top at Walmart along with this lace for $1.00/yd, when I put it together I got a cute boutique shirt. Simple 10 minute refashion.

Once again please forgive the photo's still a work in progress!

grab your shirt

your lace

I wanted my lace to come right above my bra strap (this way I can still wear one)

I cut around the frame

Pin lace to frame of shirt, I folded the shirt under 2x's then pined lace on top

Sew around 2x's once around edge of lace, then edge of shirt

All done

snapppy top

I found this pattern over at prudent baby and I was so excited. I have been wanting to try this type of top but was not sure how to do the collar. She made it very easy.

Daddy had some issues with this outfit (Daddy's favorite team is the Chargers). It was not for Savannah, it was a birthday outfit for my niece. But I wanted to make sure it would fit so I had Savannah try it on. Savannah is 9 months and in the 75% and the birthday girl is 1 year now and in the 25th% so it's a perfect match, I think.

I have a standard bloomers pattern that I use for everything an just made the shirt a little longer but not to long so she could still crawl. I will be doing another outfit for Savannah, in the appropriate fabric though.

I had plans to do a tutorial on this little number, however I am trying to learn how to use my camera (not on auto) and the pictures didn't come out to well. A little blurry as you can see in some of these pictures.

If anyone would like a tutorial anyway just let me know and I will put the pictures up. I do love the way it came out though.

I changed the button, the original was to heavy and weighted it down.

I can't get enough

I just can't get enough of those ruffles! I think my daughter will be in them until she can protest.

I got the rose hair clip tutorial from purlebee.

The rose is a a picture I got off line and just made it a freezer paper stencil.

This outfit was more of an accident. I started off making this for birthday gift we have this weekend. It was suppose to come out like this one. I always put the ruffles on before I put together the garment. I didn't realize the way the bloomers were I was putting them on the side and not the back. I wasn't sure how I wanted to proceed, take it apart, or start over, so I put it aside to think about. After I made the birthday girl another outfit (tutorial to come tomorrow) I went back to this one (After all I had already put a bit of time into this out fit). I just decided to add the ruffles to the other side. I love the way it turned out.
